Hospice Care of Middletown is exicted to announce that it will host the 10th Anniversary of its Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2019. The race begins at 8:30am, with registration beginning at 7:30am, at Woodside Cemetery & Arboretum in Middletown. Parking will be available across the street from Woodside Cemetery at Rosa Parks Elementary School. We will have volunteers there to help you with directions. This family event has become one of the largest community participation events in the Middletown area. We have had over 600 runners and walkers the past 5 years. We thank you all for your participation and continued support.
Speedy-Feet will again professionally time our racers using Chip technology, and the results and pictures are posted on their website after the race at speedy-feet.com
. Awards are given for the overall male and female runners, then the top 3 male and female in age groups. Awards for walkers go to the top 3 male and female walkers, and age group male and female winners. The course is perfect for running: a wide, flat, asphalt course that winds throughout the beautiful grounds. Shorter course loops will also be marked for those who don’t want to go a full 5K distance.
All of the Mothers/Grandmothers/Great-Grandmothers participating will receive a special gift. The first 150 registered will receive a special “goody” bag. There will be lots of door prizes, and refreshments during and after the race. We plan on having a few more special giveaways to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. Those who want to walk in memory of a loved one can have a special memory sign made that will be placed along the walk/run route and can be taken home after the event.

The proceeds from this event will help support many of our patients and families as they face end of life challenges. While most of us don’t want to think about end of life issues, the best way to honor those we love who are facing life’s final journey is to help them maintain dignity, comfort and quality of life. Because of your generosity, and the support of other donors and volunteers in the community, Hospice Care of Middletown is able to provide quality care to anyone needing services, regardless of ability to pay. We look forward to a great turnout again to help us celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our 5K run/walk.
