I am excited to bring you the first (and long-time coming) PINBALL LEAGUE at Arcade Legacy: Bar Edition! The goal of this league is to allow everyone to be able to participate, no matter what their schedules look like. Even kids! If you can find 60-90 minutes (or less even) to stop by Bar Edition once a week, you can play in the league! The full set of rules and schedule are posted below. It's a long read, and I am trying to be as detailed as possible as this is new for almost everyone. I think I have covered everything. I welcome any feedback or suggestions. If anything isn't quite clear, please let me know so I can address that.
-March 13 first official meet up. You have from then until the 17th to put up your initial scores. If you can't make it out during 3/13 to 3/17 to put up the initial scores, let me know and we can work it out for you to get in before then and get them played.
-The first week you will play all 10 games and have your scores recorded. Scores are ranked against everyone in the league. Point value is based on how many entrants. If there are 50 people in the league, top score is worth 50 points. #2 score is worth 49 and so on down the line. After that, you will be placed in divisions with players of similar ranking. The first week is the only time we use this scoring.
-Once you are placed in your divisions, you are put in a group of four players within the division. You will play three randomly assigned games each week. Scoring for those games is 7,5,3,1 for 1st through 4th place. If you get first or second place in the group, you will be bumped up the next group (or maintain your position if in the highest group). If you get third or fourth, you drop down to the next group. You can go up and down an entire division! For example, if you are in the top group of B division and get first or second place, you move up to the bottom group of A.
-Ties will be broken with a one full game playoff on a randomly chosen game. If the players are not playing at the same time and a playoff cannot be done, that will be addressed. I am coming up with a fair solution for that and will post once updated.
-Official meetup days are Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Stu will handle Wednesdays and Jesse will be there for Friday and Sunday. If you need to come another day or Stu or Jesse are not going to be there, John Holliday (AL:BE general manager), will be the official scorekeeper. If he has stepped out, it will revert to the bartender or Troy. Someone will be there to officially score you. Kids are allowed to join the league and can play on Sundays. It is 21+ on the other days.
-You can get with your group for the week and try and meet up one of those days. This will not always be possible obviously. Just a suggestion to make the league more interactive and help you get to know other players. We want everyone to have a chance to play, so you can come any day during business hours and put up your scores for the week as mentioned above.
-You are allowed as much practice as you want. Once you (or your group) are ready for your official score you will need to tell whomever is on hand to judge scores (if playing solo). If you are playing with your group or other league players, they can judge your scores. You just have to tell someone BEFORE the game starts that you want that game to be your league score. We have a great group of players and I am sure everyone will be honest with their scores.
-You are allowed to come before or after one of our regularly scheduled tournaments and put up your league scores.
-If you miss a week, you automatically drop down a group. Not a division, just a single group. You can storm your way back to victory the next!
-After the 8 total weeks (initial scores plus 7 weeks of group play) there will be division playoffs. Top 16 are A division. next 16 B division. next 16 C division. And so on.
-The league week will run Monday to Sunday with May 5th being the final day of the final week.
-Finals will be broken up on two days. Division A and B will play on a set date TBA. Division C and D will play on a set date TBA. I will be deciding on finals dates soon.
-Finals will consist of four four person groups per division. Two games played for the first two rounds. Three games for the final round. Three rounds (16->8->4). Scoring of 4,2,1,0. Top two advance. Games will be randomly chosen.
-Ties will be broken with a full game playoff on a randomly chosen game. Higher seed choses order.
-League fee is $15. All money will go to trophies, IFPA fees and cash payout. No profit is being made on the league entry fee.
-There will be a trophy for the winner of each division and cash payouts for the top 4 in each division. I will try my best to procure some other prizes from sponsors.
-Extra balls will not be able to be turned off for league play. You may set up skill shot and plunge any extra ball that is awarded. No flips!
