The Art Academy of Cincinnati's Exhibition Studio Class presents «Reminder,» a popup exhibition hosted by the Contemporary Arts Center, displayed in the lower lobby, and created in response to their current show «No Two Alike: Karl Blossfeldt, Francis Bruguière, Thomas Ruff.»
AAC's Exhibition Studio is an art class in which students develop a body of work to be displayed in a series of popup exhibitions around the Greater Cincinnati area. For this popup, nine students were each asked to create an artwork in response to «No Two Alike,» an exhibition which not only restages a historic 1929 show combining the photographs of Blossfeldt and Bruguière, but juxtaposes it with the work of contemporary artist Thomas Ruff. Noting the echoes and variations inherent in this show, the students of Exhibition Studio add their own voices to the conversation with «Reminder,» offering a wide variety of media and modes of working—from sculpture to painting to photography, and more.
