The people of Ohio played their part in the heroic endeavors of the Underground Railroad. Drawing on decades of research, historian Tom Calarco uncovers heroic tales of our nation’s quest for freedom and equality for all, including accounts from Red Oak, Peru Township, Alum Creek, Clinton County, and Wilmington.
Tom Calarco is the author/editor of seven books and numerous articles on the Underground Railroad. He has presented papers at the National Parks Service’s “Network to Freedom” Conference and numerous other speaking engagements. He is a member of the North Country Underground Railroad Historical Association.
This event is open and free to the public. The author’s short talk will be followed by a reception. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
