Athlete Warrior Games (AWG) is a competitive Ninja Warrior league founded in the Midwest with the hope of promoting and growing the sport to have it eventually hosted in the Olympic Games. We created AWG to give ninja warrior, parkour, climbing, gymnastics, and CrossFit gyms the ability to host more competitions and further promote the sport to a broader audience.

Only gyms registered and affiliated will AWG can host competitions. Competitions will be conducted either weekly or bi-monthly depending on availability at affiliated gyms. A point scoring system developed by Australian Ninja Games and implemented by the founders of AWG will be used to determine the standings of each competition.
Participating Ninjas (All Age Groups)

Youth Division 9am-11am

Age Group 1: Boys/Girls 6-7

Age Group 2: Boys/Girls 8-10

Age Group 3: Boys/Girls 11-13

Age Group 4: Boys/Girls 14-16 * (These athletes will run the same obstacle course as the adult divisions)

Adult Division 12pm-3pm

Female Age Group 1: 17-24

Female Age Group 2: 25-35

Female Age Group 3: 36+

Male Age Group 1: 17-27

Male Age Group 2: 28-38

Male Age Group 3: 39+

A Ninja’s age will be determined at the beginning of the season (August 26, 2018); whatever age you are when the season begins that is the age group you must compete in all season long.

Exclusively, boys and girls ages 14 — 16 may choose to compete in the next age group up (Adult Division male age group 1 or female age group 1). This must be determined prior to the beginning of the season and they must remain in that age group for the entire season. This allows them to compete as an adult.

There will be no amateur or pro divisions. Each athlete will only directly compete against other athletes within their own group.

Course Judges

Each gym hosting an AWG competition will have a minimum of two Course Judges (one of which will be deemed the head AWG course judge for the competition) and a Course Timer. The Course Timer will be responsible for starting and stopping the ninja’s course runs and recording the final time of each course run. The Head Judge should record the accrued points of each competitor in the Ninja Master App while one of the other two judges should call the points and write them down on a hard copy scoring sheet as a back up, to avoid any scoring errors.
Course Judges will determine if a ninja has or has not completed a course obstacle and the number of points a ninja earns on the obstacle. The Head Course Judge or Course Designer will conduct the course run walk through prior to that day’s league competition where they will fully explain each obstacle on the course to the competition’s ninjas.
Obstacles will have a definitive beginning and completion point; this must be explained in detail to all competing ninjas during the course walk through as well to avoid any confusion to the competing ninjas. Ultimately, the Head
Course Judge will define these points with the hosting gym’s course designer. The Head Course Judge will be decided prior to the start of that day’s Games.

Point Scoring System

AWG uses a point scoring system for each obstacle on a league course; obstacles will have at least 1 and up to 5 points of completion ranging from easiest to hardest (1 point for easiest way to clear obstacle, 2 — 5 points for completing an obstacle in its hardest form). A point total for the course will be determined before the first run on day one of competition. The point total and overall course time will determine a ninja’s placement order in the final standings. In the case of several ninjas earning the same number of points for a course, placement will then be determined by the individual ninja’s completion time.

A maximum course time will also be determined and presented to competing ninjas during course walk through prior to start of an AWG competition. If a ninja achieves the max course time they must finish the obstacle they are on and the course run will end after completion of that obstacle. The head AWG Judge will have final say on whether or not a ninja has properly completed a course obstacle. If a course run was filmed, upon the completion of that age group, two AWG Games Judges will review the video to determine the points earned by the ninja in question. The Judges have the final ruling on obstacle completion.

Accumulating Games Points

Ninjas may compete in as many qualifying competitions as they desire; however, only the top 3 competition scores will be counted towards an individual ninja’s Games points total. It is recommended to compete in more than three competitions to achieve the best ranking in the overall league standings. At each AWG competition, a point total is awarded based on how the ninja places in their division at the end of the competition. The most points will be received for 1st place in a division and least amount of points to the last place finisher in a division.

Athlete Warrior Games Leaderboard

Each age division will have its own leaderboard for both male & female ninjas. Ninja’s placement on the overall leaderboard is weighted on a 100 points scoring system. For example, Ninjas will receive more points if they win a competition with 30 Ninjas in their age division versus only 10 Ninjas. What is unique about AWG scoring system is that nearly everyone competing receives points, which is unlike any other Ninja competitions around. The leaderboard is expected to fluctuate after each competition based on this system.

The League Finals will consist of the top athletes from the following age groups/divisions:

• Age Group 1: Boys/Girls 6-7
o Top 20 ninjas boys & girls from combined group
• Age Group 2: Boys/Girls 8-10

Course & Obstacle General Rules & Guidelines

Qualifying course runs will contain 7-15 obstacles; a run must include at minimum the following: three balance/lower body obstacles and three upper body dominant obstacles. The remaining obstacles are left up to the course designer’s discretion; a maximum time limit must be determined prior to start of league comp.

Climbing chalk will be provided on the course by the gym hosting the Games competition. No outside/personal chalk will be allowed during a course run, unless approved by the hosting gym prior to the start of that day's competition. Tape is permitted for use as long as it does not give the competing ninja an advantage over the other competing ninjas. Tape must be approved by the Head Course Judge prior to the start of that day’s competition. Gloves of any kind are not permitted for use by ninjas competing in an AWG competition.

Obstacles will not be adjusted for an individual ninja to accommodate them for any reason; courses should be designed differently for Youth and Adult Division age groups. Youth Division age groups (6-7 and 8-9) will not be able to complete ANW Stage III Las Vegas type obstacles. Youth Division Age groups 11-13 & 14-16 can have a different course design. All other age groups (including the Youth Division 14-16 male & female ninjas who’ve elected to compete in the next age group up) will run the same course during the league competition.
