Born in the Cleveland area and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ben Tweedt is an up-and-coming jazz pianist, composer, and arranger on the Cincinnati music scene. A recent graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's graduate program, Ben maintains a busy schedule of teaching and freelance playing around the Cincinnati area; he also leads his own trio and is a member of and composer/arranger for the Brandon Coleman Quartet, fusion group Spherical Agenda, and The Original Farm League Big Band. He also performs with the Blue Wisp Big Band, the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, the New Studio Big Band, and others.
Ben has performed with, opened performances for, or participated in masterclasses with Peter Erskine, Terence Blanchard, Benny Golson, Donny McCaslin, Randy Brecker, Delfeayo Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Dan Brubeck, Chris Brubeck, Dee Dee Bridgewater, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Diane Schuur, Chester Thompson, Dave Pietro, Michael Dease, Karrin Allyson, and John Von Ohlen, among many others. Ben was the winner of the Nebraska Young Jazz Artist competition in 2014 and a finalist in the American Jazz Pianist Competition in 2018, a national competition for jazz pianists aged 25 and under.
Ben will be joined by Peter Gemus on bass and Tom Buckley on drums.
