TOPIC: BRONZED and BEAUTIFUL
When you enter the gates of Spring Grove cemetery and begin to tour the grounds you see beautiful landscaping and stone everywhere; whether it is the white of the marble or the various shades of granite. But if you look closely and are prepared to search you will spy bronze. Bronze was used because it was known for its resiliency. It was expensive, which showed how much you valued your deceased loved one. On this tour we will be searching for bronze. It is not always easy to find but well worth the hunt.

Since its founding 150 years ago, Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum has been an important part of Cincinnati's heritage. It serves as a guardian of much of Cincinnati's past. In 1995, the Board of Trustees established the Spring Grove Heritage Foundation to educate the public about and promote the natural beauty and historic integrity of Spring Grove in ways not normally covered by the cemetery's operations. Through the sponsorship of events, tours, workshops and seminars, the Foundation serves to promote Spring Grove's cultural, historic, and natural resources. Often referred to as a «museum without walls,» Spring Grove possesses fine art and architecture of eclectic styles as diverse as any collection. Your $4 or $5 donation goes to the Spring Grove Heritage Foundation.
